This year, the Summit will address relevant topics on international trade trends, cooperation between China and Latin American and Caribbean countries, new routes and opportunities for trade, the promotion of Sustainable Development, facilitation policies as tools to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and opportunities for joint development within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.

This plenary session seeks to analyze in depth the challenges and opportunities that this dynamic represents. From the influence of the Belt and Road Initiative to the impact of protectionist policies, we will explore how these trends are shaping the future of international trade and what implications they have for our countries.
«Connecting Continents, New Routes, New Opportunities: The Advantages of Interoceanic and Multimodal Transport between China and LAC».
This Forum addresses the growing importance of strengthening logistics connections between China and LAC. This synergy offers a range of economic opportunities, by optimizing maritime and land routes, costs are reduced, delivery times are accelerated and supply chains are diversified, to boost trade in goods and services, economic growth, job creation and investment attraction.
“Promoting Innovation in the Health Sector: Building a Solid Foundation for Medical Collaboration between China and LAC.”
This is a crucial space for dialogue to explore the existing synergies between China and LAC in the health field. Strategies will be discussed to strengthen the health self-sufficiency of Latin America and the Caribbean through foreign direct investment in the medical sector, facilitating access to cutting-edge technologies and high-quality products at competitive costs. In addition, opportunities for cooperation in research and development will be analyzed, with the aim of promoting innovation and developing solutions adapted to the specific needs of the region.
“A Perfect Partnership: Deepening Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and Trade Growth between China and LAC.”
The Forum aims to analyze existing synergies and discuss strategies to promote FDI, including the implementation of more attractive promotion policies, the simplification of procedures and the experience of free trade zones or special free trade zones. The importance of Free Trade Agreements as mechanisms to eliminate tariff and non-tariff barriers, thus facilitating the flow of goods and services, will be addressed.

Supply chains between China and LAC are critical to the global economy, particularly in sectors such as shipping, manufacturing (next-generation electric vehicles), e-commerce and the digital economy. China’s technological achievements and the LAC region’s abundant resources create a symbiotic and mutually beneficial relationship. This interconnection presents significant opportunities for trade and investment, economic growth, job creation and technological advancement.
“Building Bridges: The Central Role of TPOs in Fostering Economic Integration and Boosting Trade and Investment between China and LAC.”
The TPO Roundtable will discuss best practices to facilitate market access, identify business opportunities and overcome the challenges faced by Chinese and LAC companies in the internationalization process. The synergies existing between the TPOs of China and LAC will be explored, as well as collaboration opportunities to promote joint investment projects and regional value chains, thus contributing to sustainable economic growth and inclusive development in both regions.
